Opening.
· Visual.
· Abstract images- Toe tag, either untied from real toe or just about to be tied to a real body.
· Inverted colours- make film backwards before even being seen. Warning to audience.
· Double imaged toe tag- superimposed-implies connection between to images.
· Ambiguous images, such as a skeletal spine.
· Journal- secret, code, words are upside down encoded.
· Distortion on the images- feels of distortion, uneasiness for the viewers. Opening of a thriller should do.
· Old crusty blood- not red, red reds and oranges. Hiding detail of toe tag. Implies some sort of censorship.
· Aural.
· Sounds like nine inch nails.
· Ambient sounds.
· Many layers of sounds.
· Electronic soundscape- Intense and suspense. Feel like the rest of the film is going to be weird.
· As if in a big metal factory, industrial sounds.

· What is my production company going to look like?
· Protagonist- clean, minimalist, ordered, lonely, under controlled. White collar worker.
· Prepared and organised for things- pocket knife to protect him.
· Ambient outside world outside sounds- bad environment- realistic effect.
· Over the shoulder shot- tying tie- neat and sophisticated.
· Precise, methodical, prepared. Everything is in order for him.
· Bed is clean, white, prestige.
· Juxtaposition- Desaturated colours- dull, cold, dark dead person on floor, messy.
· Only bit of light is from reflexion of light from blood- from outside world. Tiny bit everything else is in darkness.
· Mise scene scene- children’s picture on dead person’s fridge. Audience emotions –sadness- pitty.
· Blood spatter- oldness, person been dead for a while.
· Low angle- protagonist- establishment of status.
· Shift of power hierarchy- brad pitt was in front, then when Morgan freeman put him in his place, he walked forward past him. Establishment of hierarchy of power.
